Something your child said recently that stuck with you?

My one-and-a-half-year old, out of the blue, started reciting Dr. Seuss's ABC book from start to finish. Just goes to prove if you do something enough and with excitement, people around you will take notice.


What are you eating right now?

Sliced prosciutto & chunks of blue cheese.


Before working at the monger, Michael Blum built Beemster Cheese's US operations. When asked about his role model in the specialty foods industry, his answer is immediate:


"Kathy Gaffney of Wegmans has always impressed and inspired me. I first met her when I was at Beemster. Besides always have a big smile and enjoying her position, she has worked hard to bring innovative products and partnerships to the industry. She is one of the most organized people I have come across. Always honest and to the point. (I'd like to add a congratulations to her for being president of the American Cheese Society.)"


Advice for folks who'd like to stay ahead of the tech curve?

Observe those around you who are younger.


Fave summer evening?

Hot air ballooning over Westchester County. On a clear evening (2 hours before sunset) I can see the skyline of Manhattan, Long Island, and even Block Island.
